What is the RAPS skydiving system?

RAPS stands for Ram-Air Progression System .  The student progresses from a static line first jump from 3500ft using a large docile fully sterable Ram Air (square) main parachute which is opened automatically (and has an automatically activated reserve back-up), though a minimum of x jumps in order to gain the internationally recognised British Parachute Association (BPA) 'A' licence.

What does the initial course involve? Six hours of ground training (exits, canopy control & landings) plus your first static line descent.

What does the initial course cost? The course price is £225 - including ground training, provisional BPA membership, club membership & first jump. Subsequent jumps cost £40 Static Line Jump / £45 Freefall Jump (packing and instruction included)

Availability: Courses are currently run at weekends from February to November.

Restrictions: Maximum weight limit 15st / 95kg. Mimimum age 16 years (parental consent required) / Maximum age 50 years. All participants must sign a 'Declaration of Fitness' before taking part in any parachuting activity and those over 40 must have the form signed by a doctor.
